Video-Hershey Pa

Hershey Pa 4/6/2009

Chocolate and more!

Doesn’t bother us if it rains, its actually the better time to tour places that attract teenagers/school groups. We did the 1hour Trolley Works tour and that was only the beginning . We heard about Mr. Hershey’s sweet endeavors that took him from failures to fortunes. Also enjoyed the 3D show ,animated musical adventure.Had lunch, made some purchases, and were sent home with lots of samples in our pockets. Energy for the trip north. A newly build state of the art Museum is one of many buildings we didn’t have time to visit. The video is of the Dome of Founders Hall at the Milton Hershey School. It is the 2nd largest unsupported dome after St Peters in Rome. We must return to revisit these buildings and learn more about Mr. Hershey.

Rolling Silver Dollar signing off, till next time we roll.

Amish video

Berlin Ohio--4/4/2009

Left Jackson Center early Saturday with temps in 30’s and some ice on the ponds. Our goal was to be in Pennsylvania that evening. We did stop and took a break in Berlin Ohio which is the Mecca for Amish Crafts and Furniture in the State of Ohio. We did make a few purchases and had fun taking pictures. Its just amazing how these folks just follow their daily routines in the mist of all the modern technology around them . The camp site for the evening was “different “ . It was located on the border of OH, WV, & PA and opened during the winter months . Went down a steep winding partial tarred road from 1400 ft to 800 ft - parked alongside a stream - quiet , no phone, no TV - good cribbage games .
